From start to finish Stonebridge Homes goes the extra mile to increase energy efficiency, boost structural integrity and build a home with the greatest longevity possible. What matters most to us is constructing a home with exceptional, lasting value while maintaining aesthetically-pleasing exterior and interior designs. The Differences Inside a Stonebridge Home begin with your foundation and continue throughout the construction process.
Why do we go to all the extra effort and costs?
Because we are committed to building homes that make us proud and that will keep you, your family and your investment safe for years to come. Below are just a few examples of how our commitment and practices enhance the quality of your home.
We use a Pressure Balance HVAC system in all our homes to improve air quality, energy efficiency and comfort. Each room will automatically balance itself in changing conditions with doors open or closed. Most of our competitors only install this as an upgrade.
All windows receive a full length of self-healing, waterproof membrane along the bottom sill and up the side walls at least 9”. This is added insurance that moisture will not penetrate the wall system should it make it past the exterior moisture barriers.
All penetrations and planes into conditioned living spaces are sealed with expandable foam insulation. This step makes a big difference in sealing the ‘good’ in and the ‘bad’ out from your home. We feel this is a fundamental step to truly seal your home, and well worth the extra time and investment.
Full-ridge venting is utilized where possible to facilitate attic ventilation. As a result, energy efficiency is significantly enhanced. Since it is at the top of the home you will get a greater degree of air exchange volume resulting in greater energy savings and less wear and tear on your mechanical system. Most builders only use square “Air Hawks” that are not placed at the highest point. This leaves the hottest air within the top section of the attic lowering the exchange volume and diminishing efficiencies.
A galvanized metal drip edge is used over Hardi® products at the roof line to minimize long term water damage to exterior surfaces. This reduces maintenance and fosters a longer life for the facia board. Most builders use a natural wood product and frequently without a drip edge. If paint isn't maintained every 3-4 years a replacement will be needed much sooner.
